Welcome to The Dollar Wish Blog

They say you get back what you give – karma. Well this is the basis of my idea for this blog. You make a wish. Every wish costs a dollar (which is 56p in GBP at present, go to http://www.x-rates.com/calculator.html for exchange rates for other countries) and I add them to my blog. 10% of all money raised goes to Charity. The dollar charge goes towards all the typing I will hopefully be doing. You send your dollar helping me and charity and hopefully by way of karma, your wish will come true!

This new year instead of making a resolution – Make a Wish! I came up with this blog as a novel way to make money to pay off my student loans, inspired by the recent success of fellow student Alex Tew, who has made over $1,000,000 in a few short months. I hope, however, that it will be much more than that. Wishes can be anonymous, or you can put your name to them, you could even buy a wish for someone else, whatever you want.

I hope the site will build up a following as people come to see what other peoples’ wishes are. The wishes can be whatever you want – funny, sad, realistic, totally unrealistic, specific or general. I hope the wishes will be as diverse as possible. The more varied the better. Please keep your wishes short and sweet (up to 30 words) and start your wish with “I wish…”

Wishes can only be paid for at present by paypal. Please send $1 to dollar_wish@yahoo.com via http://www.paypal.com/ with your wish in the message box. If you want your name to be with your wish leave it after your wish, if you want it to be anonymous then put anon after your wish. Wishes will be updated as often as possible. I was inspired by two other websites which I would like to credit. Firstly by The Million Dollar Homepage created by the genius Alex Tew. His idea was to try raise money to pay for his Uni fees by selling advertising by the pixel. He has now sold all 1,000,000 rasing over $1,000,000! The second inspiration came from the website http://www.postsecret.com/. People mail in their secrets on a postcard and these are put on the website. A new batch goes up every Sunday. There is also a book, you can find this on amazon. Well worth a look.
